Straps For An Electric Guitar

There are 2 main reasons to use guitar straps. Guitar straps stop the guitar crashing to the ground and they also assist keeping the guitar in the correct position. Electric guitars are designed to balance best when using straps and allow for a more natural hand position while playing them. A good quality wide strap will help distribute the weight of your guitar over a broad area of your back and shoulders, preventing you from developing back problems and dealing with fatigue. Electric guitars have special strap buttons to attach your strap, one at the base of the body and the other near where the neck is joined to the body. Some manufacturers make strap locks too, which are gadgets that prevent the strap coming loose from the strap button. This is highly recommended if you play in a vigorous manner. Straps come in a variety of colors, materials and widths. The most popular materials used are leather, cloth and nylon. Only get one that is length adjustable.
